Roads in California and across the country are to be enjoyed by everyone. We use them for a host of activities including leisure drives to the countryside or beach, to visit friends and family and travel to and from work.
We expect that those sharing the roads with us will obey safety laws, and in the event an accident does happen, they will remain at the scene. Fleeing the scene of an accident can bring consequences, not to mention the toll it leaves on those left behind. If one or more people involved in a car accident flee after the crash a host of issues could arise. In addition to being against the law, injured victims may not receive the help they require in a timely matter, authorities will have questions left unanswered and damages could go uncollected.
Authorities are still investigating a recent car accident that happened about an hour from Sacramento, California. One woman was detained in handcuffs but police believe the driver of the car, which struck another vehicle, left the scene.
In total, four cars were involved in the auto accident. Two victims of the crash were killed, a man and a woman. While the victims and their families struggle with the aftermath of the tragedy, the fact that the cause of the accident and perhaps the person responsible, are still unknown, makes the situation that much worse for those involved.
Seeking the advice of an experienced attorney may be beneficial to the victims and their families when an incident such as this takes place.
