Steel beam accident causes injuries on construction site

Construction sites can be one of the most dangerous places to work, and construction workers place themselves in danger every day when they go to work. A construction accident can causes injuries that are physically disabling to the worker. Emotional damage and posttraumatic stress disorder may also be concerns after a construction worker is injured in an accident on the job, particularly in falling accidents that occur from large heights.

Construction crews received a safety reminder when a worker moving with a steel beam was injured on the job. Fire crews used new, advanced equipment to quickly rescue the man after he slipped and fell from a platform. The man was working on the construction of a chiller plant at a local medical center. Several roads were closed as the construction worker was evacuated from the scene.

Only minor injuries were reported from the worker, and it is believed that the proper safety techniques and clothing were instrumental in protecting him. It is unknown if there were any other factors that may have influenced his slip and fall.

Even when a construction accident only involves minor injuries, the person who is injured may be able to obtain compensation from the company for expenses that are the result of a construction accident. In an accident where a worker is taken to a medical center, bills for treatment will be issued and the company where the worker is employed may be required to cover the costs. Any worker injured in a construction accident may want to consult an attorney about guaranteeing payment for medical costs from his or her employer.
